Be Our Guest
You are invited to be our guest at The Rustic Brush-Harbor Rockwall, a fun nautical themed space to gather and create beautiful memories with your friends and loved ones. We are a BYOB organization, and so, we invite you to make yourself at home as we guide you through the making of your one-of-a-kind wooden decorative piece or any project of your choice. No experience is required at all! Just come and enjoy the creative process led by our instructors, who will ensure you walk out with a magnificent project and a pleasant experience. All ages are welcome, and we are delighted to have you join us at our studio to indulge in this unique DIY experience.
Stephanie and John Mathews are the proud owners of The Rustic Brush-Harbor Rockwall after relocating their store from Lower Greenville, Dallas.
Stephanie’s love and interest in arts and crafts led her to join the Rustic Brush, franchise family. She played a vital role in establishing and managing a small business in London, where she lived several years ago. Now she is using that same driving force and creative energy at her DIY studio located in Rockwall. If she is not in the store, Stephanie is found cuddling and reading to her twin babies, volunteering at the equine therapy horse park (caring for horses that serve the injured veterans/special needs children and young adults), and playing string instruments. She is also involved in several other projects at the University of Texas at Dallas related to child development and writing.
John and Stephanie met in London, where at the time, John was completing medical school in New York. Now, John is serving as a Bone Marrow Transplant Physician who treats Leukemia and Lymphoma at the Medical City Dallas Hospital. John always had a heart to serve, which is also reflected in him being an honorable discharged veteran of the Air Force – a veteran of the Desert Storm. With the opening of their studio, John has gained a new hobby besides kayaking and continuously studying; he now helps his wife cut wood in their garage to stock up for their store. “How much wood can a woodchuck chuck, and how much wood can this doc chuck; it may not be the same, but good enough to keep the store running,” chuckles Stephanie.
The couple was blessed with miracle twin babies in 2020, and their adorable girl and boy (also known as Boss Baby A and Boss Baby B) inspire them to live to their fullest potential. As a family, the Mathews believe in paying it forward so, they have partnered with several organizations that are close to their hearts as they strive to give back to the community.
John and Stephanie Mathews invite you to The Rustic Brush-Harbor Rockwall to create, have fun, and make memories that will last a lifetime. In addition to the incredible memories and designs made, your visit adds hope to someone in need through their contribution on behalf of their patrons to various societies such as Equest, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Wounded Veterans Society, and many more.
You are invited with a warm welcome to The Rustic Brush of Harbor Rockwall!
